Creating and Maintaining Comradeship:
As a Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars we call each other Comrades, and to an extent we are, but do we have Camaraderie? And can you truly have one without the other?
*The dictionary defines a Comrade as a friend who is frequently in the company of another.
*The dictionary defines Camaraderie as the quality of affording easy familiarity and sociability.
At Post 10859 we don't encourage our Members to be active just to work them, we're building Camaraderie. Come to monthly meetings and Warrior Wednesday, come to the multitude of events we have throughout the year. Pearl Harbor Breakfast, Bakersfield Military Ball, Member Appreciation Dinner, Several car shows, and more. Take an active part in the Post by attending meetings and events.
Like any friendship, like any group of friends; we must work on building Camaraderie. You've already taken the first step by joining the Post. Take the next by being a good Comrade and help us build Camaraderie.
Camaraderie doesn't just happen, like anything worth having it's earned through hard times and good, through agreements and disagreements, through shared experiences.Come on down to the Post. If you'd like to know more about what we're doing; read the e-mails we send, read the monthly bulletin, visit our FaceBook Page, visit our web-site, and most importantly come to a meeting.
