We're starting a Camping Group!! To join all you have to do is Contact our web master, or email to VFW.Post10859@gmail.com.
The purpose of the Group is to bring Post Members together for Camaraderie in a relaxed environment outside of Bakersfield.
So far our Group has made two trips. The first was to Flying Flags RV Resort in June 2018. We spent five days at the resort with three families. Two in trailers and one in a nearby cottage.
The 2nd was to the Point Mugu Naval Air Station in November 2018. Not to be confused with the Point Mugu State Park. On this trip we spent six days and had four families; three in trailers and one in the hotel adjacent to the RV parking.
In February 2019, we made another visit to Flying Flags RV Resort.
In April 2019, we met at San Onofre Camp Pendleton, then to Laughlin, NV.

How about you, can we add your name?
How do we communicate?
Post email at VFW.Post10859@gmail.com
Contact through the website.
We'll also add a "What's Next" page to our website, if we get off the ground. The new page will include a calendar, links to the park and nearby adventures, etc...
How do we decide where to go?
A Member does a little research, presents it to the Group, coordination efforts are made, those that want to and can, join in on that Mission.
It's all really very informal.
What do we do?
Of course that's location dependent, but you can depend that we'll relax around the camp fire, enjoy the company and nature, perhaps partake in a adult beverage, and share killer foods. On one trip we went to a local casino and toured Solvang. On another we were at the beach and toured the Ronald Regan Presidential Library. Both were great fun.
What about pets?
Limited to park restrictions. Most parks welcome pets, have pet friendly walking paths, fenced in pet areas, and pet cleanup stations. At Pt Mugu, dogs were allowed on the beach. So basically, we look at the location and decide whether to bring them.
Owning an RV is absolutely Not a prerequisite. The only requirement is your desire to join in.
Any type of RV is welcome.
Tents are welcome, as long as the park allows tents (some restrictions may apply).
Staying in nearby cottages or hotels is a great way to join in.
Ever thought of renting an RV?
Anyway, I think you get the idea.
